Title: Tuskgor chariots and marked characters

I was told by a GW staffer that there is/will be an errata to beasts of chaos such that it is/will be possible to take Tuskgor chariots without a mark so that you can put marked characters other than undivided into them. there is stuff on Portent.net about this too.

Sorry if this is old news!

they would have to make it that you can mark chariots? no? or are they going to be marked characters on non-marked chariots

As I understand it, it will mean that Tuskgor chariots have the option of MoCU or no mark at all. Hence Characters with other marks will be able to ride an unmarked chariot.

well, to be picky, S7 weapons are all that'd needed to pop a chariot.

The big thing the extra toughness helps with is bolt throwers though. Repeater bolt throwers only need a 4 to wound us and a 5 to wound mortals, then they get an armour save, and a normal one wounds us on 2 and them on 3.

However, i only REALLY consider the leadership and the ability to take marks to be the main advantages.

it would have to be that, because as of now unmarked character(MoU) can ride them, so the only change they can make is to have marked characters in chariots.......................stands to reason

thats what they'd do; they won't let beast have the seperate marks on their chariots because they need a reason to take mortal characters on chariots (although i think being able to put your heroes on a chariot is a pretty good deal compared to what we have)

so beast characters are better on chariots than mortals are? other than the option of marks with mortals, how do u mean? if thats what you mean

i mean that our chariots hit harder for less points. I don't really care how a chariot does after its done its charge. So for 85 points, we get D6 +1 S5 impact hits, 2 S5 hits, 1 S4 hit and 1 S6 hit, where mortal chariots are D6 +1 S5 impact hits, 2 S5 hits, 2 S4 hits for 120 points. 35 points for less strong hits and a little more survivability (+1 T and +1 armour save) and a little leadership seems pretty expensive.

That being said, we lose a S6 attack where they lose a S5 attack for putting a character in a chariot and they can put heroes (who are as good as our lord) or lords who are better than ours, but as far as the chariots hitting, we have a better choice.

Personally, i consider tooled up wolf chariots to be one of the best in the game. With 3 wolves and an extra goblin (and spears on the goblins), you pay 75 points for 18" charge, D6+1 S5 impact hits, 4 S4 attacks and 3 S3 attacks. Also, it doesn't panic any of your orc units if it panics and helps control your animosity, as well as not having the drawback of fearing elves. Put a goblin hero with light armour and a great weapon in for an extra 3 S6 attacks and it only costs 116 points (although they gain fear elves if the character is put in it)! And they're 2 for 1 special choice! So worthwhile.

But enough ranting about chariots we weren't even talking about.

hmmmm i see what you mean, the +1T and save dont matter that much, cus most people try to hit chariots with Str8 weapons, so yeh, i can see why ours are better

stormwolf - February 14, 2004 01:11 AM (GMT)
yes but then they cost even more for the marks

grashnak - February 14, 2004 03:17 AM (GMT)
i would say BoC chaiots are the second best in the game...
