Title: Trade Rules

Trade rules are really simple:

1. negotiate the trade between GMs. Do this privately, not on the message boards.

2. when the trade is agreed upon by all parties, all GMs involved need to email the trade to the commish for approval. Generally, this is a formality, but we need to make sure the trades are reasonable (i.e. no Dan Cleary for Alex Tanguay, Rob Blake and Joe Sakic). E-mail the trades to HFCHL_trades @ hotmail.com (no spaces).

3. (optional) in your trade email, include any press release-type information you want included in the announcement.

4. when a trade is approved, either the commish or and assitant commish will post an announcement of the completed trade here, in the TRANSACTIONS forum. Only then is the trade official. Just like on deadline day in the NHL, it ain't official until it's official ;)

Effective immediately, completed trades submitted for review will not be accepted unless they are sent to me via email. In addition, trades that do not include the year of the draft picks involved (i.e. "and PHI's 3rd 2004", not "and a 3rd") and trades that do not include full player names will be rejected.
