http://hfchl.comHawks notes: Hammy re-signed, finally, and Chicago's hard against the cap again. Sateri didn't play well, but he played well *enough*, and that was good enough for a 2-0 week, including a win over division-leading Nashville. Patrick Zackrisson made his return, which is causing some lineup problems (too many offense-first wingers) but the team seems to be playing well enough anyway. Chicago's now 4 point back of Calgary with a game in hand, gunning for fifth in the west, but Phoenis, Colorado, and Columbus are all only 2 points back.
27th: CHI 4 PHO 3. Zackrisson scored in his first game back and had 6 shots, and poor Wacey Rabbit is demoted to the fourth line. Hamill didn't let his new contract go to his head, scoring once and adding two assists for the game's first star. Andy Rogers beat on ex-Hawk Michael Tessier, but got schooled by Enver Lisin. AHL: NOR 3 SAN 2.
29th: CHI 5 NSH 4. Rabbit can score from the fourth line, and proved it with the GTG. Bumagin scored 1-2-3, Hedman and Rogers both had 2 assists from the blue. AHL: NOR 2 FakeAdmirals 5.
Scoring race: Marleau, Tavares, and Joe Thornton are tied for first place for the Richard Trophy, 21 goals each. Hemsky, last year's winner Chris Doyle, and Frolik are next with 20 apiece, followed by a ton of players with 19 - it's shaping up to be a tight race. Mark Bell and teammate Thomas Vanek lead the Art Ross race. Patrick Marleau's leading the Emery Edge race at +22, but Bubnick and Lynch are both +21 and Stuart, Keseel, and rookie Denis Reul are +20. So far Philly's Brent Seabrook is an early favourite for MVP, but that doesn't always go to the player with the best OA rating. Still, at 7-16-32 in 36GP, Seabrook's making a case for himself, at least for the Norris. In the crease, Ottawa's Joel Gistedt leads starters with a 7.33 OA rating, although he's only 6-15-2-2 - sounds like he should be playing for the Hawks a few years ago.
