What I am wondering about is why poor Koichi is stuck on a Friday night towards a midnight show when it is supposed to be comedic and for the kids!

I am thinking that this may be a last minute thing, and if not, then , Koichi doesn't have enough ratings to warrant a prime time show of between 7-9 pm and therefore only given terrible slots.

But the good thing is that at least he secured, or JE secured, Friday night and kids can sleep late (that is if Japan doesn't go to school on Saturdays? Do they, Elysia?)

I'm wondering why too??!! Maybe he isn't a big enough name for an actor to be scheduled for a prime time slot? *opps* Initially we were thinking it may be some dramas of "steamy" contents since the time is so late, but turns out it's a comedy!!! :faint: Maybe the jokes inside are very bad influence for the kids. LOL!!

Japanese schools... I'm not sure~~~ Even if kids don't have schools on Saturdays, I'm sure they got other stuff like cram schools, clubs and activities jammed up... For my university I don't have classes on Sat though... (My other friend in another university has classes on Sat) so it's hard to say. I'm thinking more of the housewives fans who will forgo their sleep to watch the drama every Friday night. LOL! :ph43r:

No, Elysia...don't even say that. I don't think Koichi will stoop so low as to allow steamy jokes in his own drama. :frantics: He has a princely image to keep up ! :lol: :lol: OMG, I hope he won't!!! I cringe already when he was photographing those bimbos and have to watch him talk about sex in Generation Jungle. It's not really suitable for him. Remember that one where he insinuated that he was safe from the VD & crap...though he said it with a smirk...it's still not really his style. It's more for those guys at Hey Hey Hey....

I was shocked for a moment when I heard Shingo. LOL! Coz Katori Shingo came to my mind, but I think you meant Murakami Shingo (Kanjani8) right? :lol: This is new to me... (haven't been reading up recently) I only know the last "meet-up" Koichi had was with Toma, Machida and another MA boy...

Shirai Yuuki-san is the lyricist who collaborated with Koichi for many of his songs in mirror album and also for SHOCK OST. He writes a few songs for KAT-TUN and also TOKIO too. But actually those lyrics are not written by him alone, he has a partner Shin-san who writes the English lyrics... so their trademark style = Japanese + English lyrics mix which we see a lot in Koichi songs. Those are usually the ones written by them. ;)

Koichi is currently in Miyakojima (Okinawa) filming his upcoming drama... the locals there get to see Koichi filming around their neighbourhoods!! *jealous* :P But I think today? Koichi is returning to Tokyo to do the recording for upcoming Generation Jungle episode to be aired on 14th April. Anyway, Koichi's drama needs quite a number of extras on the set I think... so I see Japanese fans contemplating if they should fly over to join the filming. LOL! :lol:

Oh! Btw... the co-actress for Koichi's drama is more or less confirmed I guess... Kato Natsuki... those of you who have watched Hana yori dango 2... she's the "fiancee" of Doumyoji Tsukasa. Her blog revealed the fact that she's in Miyakojima now as well. I think it will be interesting to see chemistry of her and Koichi... love story~~ :love4: (even though she's tall) LOL!

Kato Natsuki?!!Tsukasa's fiancee??I LOVE her a lot!!!I'm currently watching Hana Yori Dango 2...and feels that she's such a cute actress!!I've been wondering who's the co-actress.Well...at least i won't get really jealous/angry when i see koichi's drama later since i like the actress as well =p

oh wow, I actually LIKED that actress after her stint in HYD2 so that's cool to note that she's the one acting with Koichi :)

Oh, I really like that actress too. I like her lively role without being truly bitchy in Hana Yori Dango 2. She would be a good match for Koichi on screen.

I wonder if it would be her hovering over him all the time and irritating him constantly as he practices his sushi cuts...hehe...

They needed 200 plus extras and they assembled them all at the German Village to enjoy Taiko drums サンシン太鼓隊、dance クイチャー舞蹈　and music performance making it a festive occasion.

I am not sure whether I am translating his blog entry at SMGO or at the drama production one. But here it is.

The drama that will be shown in July has been in preparation for a long while. The contents are very funny. It’s all (a bunch of words I don’t know how to translate. Perhaps it meant out of this world.) How should I say it, every thing is, “Really that swell?!” “How could you?” that type of feeling.

It is a bit colloquial (I think that’s what it meant) I should say that only in the drama would such things happen. Yee ! Ma….in the past I have never acted in such type of content. Please look forward to it.

According to a Chinese blog which reads Japanese entries, Koichi has been writing his entries since March 6 but they have been all deleted because perhaps the production coordinator feel that it would cause too much excitement and discussion.


He is said to be having his hair in curls in this drama.

The story is said to be " Koichi didn't know that his mother was still alive and well in Ginza and has a sushi shop with his name on. So he decided to open a sushi shop to rival hers."

Give or take....nothing is firm until we see the drama...right?

But I think that would be quite funny. I am wondering if he would be as funny as Nagase in My Boss My Hero.

Am really very hopeful for this drama.

If anyone know the exact Japanese name to this drama, please let me know so that I could amend the title. From now onwards, please post all news, photos of this drama in this thread.

Some bloggers saw Koichi and the film crew on the set. They blocked off a road which therefore became unusually quiet by any standard. Koichi was inside the sushi shop.

The first part... not from SMGO or drama production, but Koichi said it during Donnamonya. Sounds like the drama plot is going to be out of this world!

I don't think it's Koichi writing.. but the local coordinator at the filming site who wrote bits about the filming in his blog, but realised maybe it's inappropriate so he deleted the entries I think. But then fans are still resourceful enough to find more blogs of local islanders staying at Miyakojima to report about Koichi's sightings around their neighbourhood! ;) They actually got to shake hands and talk to him!! Times like this, I wish I stayed in these countryside places... LOL!!

Btw, more infor about the drama... it is rumoured that there will be one Johnny's Jr. (junior in the sense younger than Koichi, including those from debut groups) appearing in each episode of his drama. Apparently recently Nakamaru Yuichi (KAT-TUN) went to Miyakojima as well... (he wrote in his own Jweb) so fans are guessing he'll be appearing in Koichi's drama. If that's the case, I want Nagase!!! *but he's not Koichi's jr... opps!*

curly hair....humpp so far i never met any shushi chef that have curly or wave hair...

well i guess since it comedy maru from kattun is suitable but i would like to see maru from kanjani8 or ohkura tooo.....or i pray that Toma is in there tooo....Toma can be funny sometime.....

about the actress....i kind of don't like the girl.....i prefer someone like satomi (H2) or someone like in nodame (can't remember the name)....which kind of match with koichi...but never mind just give a try....anyway i will only interested in koichi so no bother... :love7:

:P when I first read about the curly hair, the first image I got was that wig look Koichi had during Pikaichi when he was producing Subaru, Murakami, and Yokohama.... For hilarity's sake it's okay. But for a drama.... ;) But I think if there was more thought put into it, Koichi could look good with curly hair!

It'll be nice if Nakamaru's in the drama though, even if it's just for a guest appearance! It's a Koichi/Kattun reunion (well, with one of the members, anyways)! :D

And yes, Nakamaru will be a regular co-star... not just guest appearance. *there goes my little hope of seeing Nagase in the show too... I still wish he will do a cameo appearance! along with other Johnnys boys*

I read the words of the director... and he mentioned that he wants to make the drama a success in such when Koichi walked on the streets, people will say "Yo! Sushi Ouji" to him. :faint: OMG... thank goodness, Koichi doesn't go out that often. LOL!!!

And according to Koichi, there is this "princely" pose that he will do. *faint!* And the in-charge for action scenes is the same person who worked with him in SHOCK, so they could actually discuss pretty comfortably with each other.

Nakamaru expressed his nervousness with Koichi... even though he (as KAT-TUN) had backdanced for Koichi for so many years back then, it's the first time he's working alone with Koichi.

*FYI, the other day Oricon Style blog was asking fans to write in comments and questions for Koichi... and we reached an alarming number of 900+ comments within 2 days!! :faint: And everyone's suspecting the photo shoot and interview already took place yesterday? Accordingly Koichi has rarely eaten sushi since young because of tummy ache and so has never liked sushi and rarely eats it. Even if he eats it, he wouldn't eat the fish ones. But in the new drama, he would have a lot of scenes of sushi eating and so the production team only arrange that Koichi's costar, Nakamura, to eat them. And Koichi would be responsible for making them and competing. But Koichi who has always been hardworking has started to overcome this fear of sushi and at the moment could start eating tuna and caviar sushi. As to whether he is really afraid of eating sushi, we have to wait till July to see it.

According to some fans and extras on the set, Koichi was chatting on the phone for a whole half hour one day and apparently, it was Higashimayama who joked that he was getting married and it was April's Fool's Day.

An extra was working on the set and everyone worked very hard from morning till night and she realized how hard it is to be an actor.

A fan went to catch a glimpse of Koichi and she saw him. To her surprise, Koichi is very pretty, prettier than a girl. His hair is soft and he's very small. She was greatly surprised that Koichi does most of his own make up most of the time. While the make up artist would be there, but in between shots, he would ask for a mirror and fix his makeup by himself. He would also put on his own clothes.

On the set, he rarely looks towards the extras but when he has time he would chat with the production team and laugh and smile.

In between shoots, he would smoke non-stop. So would the workers.

Here's one photo. Basically, the staff blocked all photo taking.



A fan said that Koichi when resting would smoke and he would look so manly at those moments. He chatted a lot with his manager and assistant. The crew often praised how good Koichi is in his acting, very determined, very serious and very tough.

The director seems to call him Little Koichi (Kochan I think).

I hope koichi will also quit smoking.. it breaks my heart everytime I hear someone says he's still smoking *and quite a heavy smoker on top of that* it's really not good for his body and his voice and his stamina, etc.. :( he should seek advice from his aikata tsuyoshi.. as I recall tsuyo used to smoke but he quit a few years ago, since 2003 if I'm not mistaken.. anyway just a bit of my thoughts... :unsure:

sighh♥ i dont know WHY, but whenever i hear about koichi (or gackt) smoking, my heart would FLUTTER~ i know its bad but... we can ALL imagine how good koichi would look when he's smoking!
