Title: Remote
Description: Koichi Domoto & Kyoko Fukada
your_girl - June 15, 2007 12:16 AM (GMT)
okay.. I am not sure if I should be starting a new topic.. but my mind is running WILD. I am currently on my lunch break from work (I only have 15 minutes left..) AH! I can't take it anymore!!! Can we PLEASE discuss this drama?? I am only on episode 4 and I don't know how many times I've screamed so far.. I have to admit, the acting bit.. not THAT great.. but HOW HOT IS KOICHI!??! sometimes, I would like to slap him for being so ass to Ayaki, but at the same time.. he makes my nose bleed =d
I have the "softsubs", if anyone wants it i can either post it here or i can upload it somewhere!
ryo - June 15, 2007 01:45 AM (GMT)
I haven't seen this drama. Eto, softsubs is the which the subs are in separate link?
Sandra - June 15, 2007 03:20 AM (GMT)
Oh, I see. I haven't started a topic about Remote. Yeah, pls upload the softsubs here so others could benefit from it.
your girl, when we watched this drama for the first time, we were screaming from episode 2 onwards every time he came out, and when the episode ended, we screamed some more. Mind you, back then, we didn't have English subs and I had to translate it live on the spot for my kids and still it was so exciting to see Koichi so beautiful with his perfect hair and near museum quality face...hahahaha...
OMG, I am not criticising him...I'm saying how picture perfect he is. That was my first full Koichi solo drama... :faint: :faint: :faint: :faint: And I didn't recover for a long time.
Wait till you get to the ep 8-10 and ending...OMG....melts your heart. We didn't want the drama to end.
We went to Borders and saw the manga and right away aimed for book 9 but it was sold out, just that volume :hair: We wanted to see that volume in manga....aaarrggghhh!!!!!!
Pls post the rest of your thoughts. I'll be back again.
your_girl - June 15, 2007 05:43 AM (GMT)
I AM BACK =) I just got off work half an hour ago and now I am back for more Koichi!
This person uploaded all the episodes on youtube.. its a pain in the ass to watch cause each episode is split into 7 or 8 parts, but that's all I got! The softsubs I will upload.. soon... I am really lazy right this moment, and I will prolly have it uploaded by either saturday or sunday :squint:
So far I've been watching it while home alone, so I was able to scream more freely than usual =d and I totally understand what you mean, Sandra.. at the end of the first (or second.. I don't remember) episode, he threw coffee at the wall.. OMG.. I don't know how many times I've watched it.. cause I didn't think Koichi was capable of that kind of manliness
Even though I get jealous of Kyoko Fukada, I really would like this to be a happy ending..
Sandra - June 15, 2007 07:35 AM (GMT)
I know I know. That is why it was surprising to me. I love the way he orders her around. I want both of them to get married, I mean, in this drama.
Your girl, is that you in your avatar looking at Koichi in a magazine?
lodoss115 - June 15, 2007 08:20 AM (GMT)
It's thanks to this drama that i became a koichi addict :D
At first, i watch it because i have read the manga and i liked the story (even if the art is really bad and there is really too more fan service....).
I think the different actors really fit into the manga characters.
and koichi... gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah ! he was hot ! a little stiff but it's required by the character ! it's really a shame that he's not very tall :D

You girls make me wanna go watch my DVDs again!!
Himuro-keishi~~~ :love7:
He's soooo handsome in this, isn't he??? I know quite a number of pple fell in love with Koichi from this drama.
And erm... actually come to think of it, I still haven't understand that "SEND MORE MONEY" riddle he solved. LOL! Or maybe I did but forgot... :ph43r: Totally hate Fukakyon in this one... she's sooooo *argh!* But nowadays I don't hate her that much... maybe you can call it jealousy but this lucky girl acted with too many JE boys! And she's always play this kind of spoiled bimbo character. *oops* Excuse me if there are Fukakyon fans here.
But.. whenever you tell me about REMOTE.. I'll think of the theme song...
"LALALALALA~~~ saigo no message = I LOVE YOU~~~"
*wails*
Lodoss115,
You have the manga?? How close is the drama following the manga?? I dunno why but I heard things like the manga is actually rated??? :ph43r: I'm dying to know what's rated inside. LOL!

i've only got the scanlation of the manga, since the manga is really too bad (bad drawing and fan service, but the scenario is good).
concerning the rating, in France, it depends on who sold it : some shop put it in hentai (but it's far from being hentai !) and others just in the thriller / comedy section.
It's true that the heroine is always wearing very short skirt and tight top !! and she always ends in weird position and you can see her panties all the time ! (really too much fan service, even for a man, my husband wouldn't read it since the drawing is really bad ! ...). There is some nude body too (not sex, just nude body but it explains the rating).
the drama follows quite well the storyline of the manga, but the ending is slightly different (i think many people here would have wanted to have the same ending in the drama ;)
if anybody interested about the scanlation, PM me, i don't think sandra would like a direct link here :) (and i understand her !)
if you want a summary, i could try (but i'm not very good at this ! especially in english !)
your_girl - June 15, 2007 04:11 PM (GMT)
Sandra~
AHAHAHA if they got married in real life, I might have a minor heart attack! but yeah... did they (I mean in the drama..)? SPOILERS!!! LOL
I woke up extra early cause I know my family are all out now... and ehehehehe I am gonna continue on :happyjoy: I am on episode 5 right now~
and yes, that's me! I wanted to show off my oricon style magazine :arr:
Elysia~
watch it again!!!! no one can ever get enough of sexy himuro keishi :squint: especially not US, the crazy fangirls! and no worries... so far I've skipped over all the parts where Himuro's explaining things to Ayaki.. Didn't even bother reading the subs.. I wonder if it's koichi that's writing things on the wall...
lodoss115~

I was just wondering... Who's nude?? LOL I wouldn't mind Himuro being nude! Does anyone know if Himuro will exhibit any kind of nakedness? (NOSE BLEED)

And later I solved that riddle by myself.. crazy crazy girl...
Sandra - June 15, 2007 04:35 PM (GMT)
Oh lodoss, now that you describe the manga rating, I want to read it. :laughing1: Yes, could you PM me the link too pls. Ya, don't post it here live. Thank you!
Actually, when I heard Solitude, I wasn't even a Kinki Kids fan and that's the song that sold Kinki Kids for me. And when I realized that Koichi composed and wrote the lyrics to that song, through Elysia's blog, in my early days of discovering Koichi, I was like :faint: :faint: :faint: - an instant Koichi music fan on top of his dance abilities. (Yeah, Elysia, your blog inspired me to like Koichi even more!)
lodoss, husbands must think we are mad to read manga at our age

remote ..same kind like dectective story !! the interesting was he never show up his face ! and kyoko became his second hand !

HAWHAWHAW!
I've finally finished it :squint: I have to say, after this drama, I am a full fledged Koichi Domoto fan! He's so versatile.. he can be so cute one minute, and the next minute he can be so serious (and in a such a manly way too..
sigh)
My favorite bits of the drama was when Himuro was soo damn worried about Ayaki... UUHHH~!!! And whenever she's around, he acts as if he doesn't care (oh, but he DOES) hard on the outside and soft on the inside.. SO CUTE :love1: The ending totally ruined the mood though. We all know Ayaki likes Himuro, but she still end up almost marrying Shingo.. I thought that was kinda weird, especially since Shingo was such a useless person
Himuro-keishi... PROTECT MEE!

Sandra,
I'm not surprised! I think I did mention before a lot of my non-fan friends specially came to tell me that they like this song! That's when they randomly heard the song on one of our local radio stations... and I was like yeah! It's nice right?? Then when I found out K.Dino = Koichi... OMG~~ I want to scream... how talented can this boy get?!?! I adore this song to bits~~

thanks El for the mags covers of Koichi and Fukakyon. To me, Kochan looks so much younger than Fukakyon in these covers, maybe because Fukakyon's hair looks like a wig? Kochan's 'wig' looks more natural!
Anyway, I'm guilty of still not watching this drama, supposedly the best character that Kochan has ever played..I watched the first episode and couldn't stand the character Ayaki! and I actually like Fukakyon~
Seeing you girls squeal over this..Guess I'll have to give it another try :squint:
your_girl - June 18, 2007 03:20 AM (GMT)
YEEEE!!! THANKS, ELYSIA, FOR THE LOVELY MAG COVERS! they look cute together =)
Here are the soft subs (that I stole) =)
Episode 1Episode 2Episode 3Episode 4Episode 5Episode 6Episode 7Episode 8Episode 9Episode 10I wish this series was longer.. totally didn't get enough of Koichi

I liked this drama a lot, though Fukada (as an actress) annoys me. ) But I don't think I want to read the manga, because the artwork is ugly. The best Himura is Ko-chan of course!
lodoss115 - June 18, 2007 03:34 PM (GMT)
for the people who have seen the drama, have you seen that Bob si calling himuro : ko-chan ? :D (of course, kozaburo --> ko-chan, but it's a fun coincidence :D)

YEAH! And it's too much of a coincidence... He's called Kochan in Ginrou as well... by his sister and friends I think... when he's the normal kid. LOL!

well said. i agree with you.indirect romance is the best for me because it's more cute. i don't have any issues regarding kyoko-chan and i admit that i found her a pretty girl( it's rare for me to admit because i'm a girl as well and girl suppose to be bitchy about other pretty girl :squint:
cold_jade - February 21, 2008 12:54 AM (GMT)
I've always liked Solitude and whenever I hear it I get into a really... depressed mood somehow. But it's not a very negative thing at all, it's just that, I'm amaze how Koichi is able to compose this song, such a sad yet... ...song. It's a very special feeling that it gives me.
The same goes for Kagen no Tsuki's music, I'm also amaze how Koichi is able to come out with such a tune.
I'm not a very big REMOTE fan, but watching Himuro makes me feel like I'm actually looking at Koichi's another side. The Koichi who composed Solitude, the Koichi who feels for his love. Although an emo!Koichi worries us but we can't help but is amazed by him ne.
Next time when listening to Solitude, try to feel it. Or just listen it with a different way... I don't know how to explain it... it's s bit ... heartaching but still, it's a new feeling.
channel - February 21, 2008 01:49 AM (GMT)
and is it too much if i wish a second season for remote?? it's nice too see kyoko and ko-chan act together
kimurafan - February 21, 2008 04:55 AM (GMT)
Welcome, incanto. I see you are a Kyoko fan!
I wouldn't mind a sequel but Remote the manga didn't have a sequel and this is based on the manga. Either the scriptwriter is not clever enough to carry on the story or Koichi doesn't want to do sequels like Kimura doesn't like follow ups if he could help it. HERO was an exception.
I would like to see Koichi marry Kyoko in a sequel to be honest if there were Remote II because the ending was so good....that he surfaced finally...ah...my daughter and I were swooning over here when we watched the last scene!!!
Btw, you are right, cold jade. Solitude is a very special song! When I first heard it, I liked it already and when Elysia told me that he composed it and wrote the lyrics to it, I was floored. I never knew he could compose in my early Koichi fandom and to write so beautifully in melody and lyrics.
And he wrote the lyrics very fitting for the drama and the plot. And I wonder if he wrote about himself and perhaps a past love perhaps in real life because it is full of feelings.
For those who hasn't explored it, here are the lyrics.

I haven't watched Remote in a long while but I don't remember anything close to a possible romance happening between these two. Where exactly is this coming from?
kimurafan - February 21, 2008 06:12 AM (GMT)
You didn't see the romance? I think Koichi was slowly warming up to Kyoko and he couldn't let her walk away to get married and that's why he called her to duty at her marriage.
Plus because of her, he came to the hospital. I definitely see that as him beginning to fall for her finally.
duotiger51 - February 21, 2008 07:25 AM (GMT)
Err, no. I don't see any romance at all. He might have gone to the hospital but I don't see it as him falling for her. He just didn't want to be 'responsible' for another death. Caring doesn't equal love or romantic love.
This is all just guessing and imagination anyway. I'm satisfied that the drama ended where it did. I'm happy too to see Koichi acting so cold and to the point. :faint: :love7:
kirbycorps - February 21, 2008 10:22 AM (GMT)
hmmm.. I have yet to seen this drama, being a big Tsuyoshi fan, koichi can wait ^___^ I have it but just haven't watched it yet.
Plus kyoko fukada really annoys me.. she so.. whiney O___o no offence to fans of her
kirbycorps - March 12, 2008 11:57 AM (GMT)
Right just seen the 1st episode of Remote, I really liked the storyline.. the actors are 'meh' (Koichi please do not hit me)
this is the first Koichi Drama I have seen, his acting is... ok from what I seen so far anyway, I know he is meant to act like that, like emotionless and things, BUT I feel there is something missing, maybe I find out when I keep watching the drama ^___^
Kyoko Fukada is such a whinger... eeek.. its a wonder how she got into the police force in the first place -____-
and Tamaki Hiroshi is in it!! *screams*
fluffy - March 12, 2008 12:09 PM (GMT)
Koichi's actings have always been pretty stiff. Don't compare it to Tsuyoshi *although we sometimes can't help it* that guy is definitely outstanding in terms of acting. I heard that his acting has improved in Sushi ouji although I have yet to watch the drama :D
LOL yeah Tamaki Hiroshi was in it, before he got famous and all. Shingo- Kurumi is one of the weirdest couples I've seen lol very cute though  Well Fukakyon always has this annoying whiny girl role for most of her dramas
cold_jade - March 12, 2008 01:32 PM (GMT)
Yeah I've watch REMOTE, Rookie, the drama SP and Sushi Ouji and I really feel that Koichi's acting did improved.
But I notice that in less serious, as in, more fun and comedic dramas like Rookie and Sushi Ouji, he performs better, in a, less tense, more natural way. While in REMOTE and the Drama SP, where he needs to be really serious, he gets stiff. I think maybe in the serious roles, we somehow compare him with the actual Domoto Koichi, we think about things like, Koichi is similar to this character blah blah~ But in Sushi Ouji or Rookie, we don't do that. Maybe that's why. And also he is less stress when he gets a fun character to perform.
kirbycorps - March 13, 2008 10:45 AM (GMT)
Koichi just doesn't "look" the serious type ne?
I have Rookie, but gonna get through Remote first ^___^
Yeh, its very wierd Koichi and Kyoko, they just don't go together -____-

Yep Yep Yep Yep! He has a detect or whatever on her phone so that means he can hear anything through the phone and I supposedly think that he purposely called her right at her wedding day!
duotiger51 - May 21, 2008 09:27 PM (GMT)
hatsukoi, no hard feelings and no arguements. I just see things differently.
I'll just stick with being happy the way the drama ended--with Koichi alone.
If it had been any other actress other than Kyoko maybe, maybe I would feel different but I don't think so.
I love LOVE Koichi in that drama so much, but I can't bring myself to watch it again because of Kyoko. I don't like her. She just spoils it for me. :faint:

duotiger, I think I know what you mean..
I actually quite like Kyoko, but I couldn't even finish Ep 1 of this drama because of her whiny character *shudder* and I don't think I can ever bring myself to watch it :ph43r:
Maybe Kyoko was over-acting here because she had such a huge crush on Koichi?
I agree with cold jade that Koichi's acting is much better in less serious roles :squint: wonder if he'll be acting in another drama soon?
