Jennifer Aniston On the Town with John Mayer

Jennifer Aniston had a late private lunch with musician John Mayer in a Miami restaurant that opened Friday afternoon just for them, and then the couple spent a lengthy dinner together Friday night.

When it came to lunch, "I was happy to accommodate them," says Charles Bell, general manager of Michael's Genuine Food & Drink in the Miami Design District, which opened its doors for the pair early at 3:30 p.m. for the 90-minute meal.

Aniston, in Miami shooting the movie Marley & Me with Owen Wilson, ordered a chopped chicken salad, while Mayer had a Serrano ham sandwich which "Jen ate some of," says Bell. For dessert, they shared a chocolate-and-peanut-butter layered treat.

Sitting across from each other in a booth, their heads were close together, and they were engaged in a private conversation, says Bell.

"I can't speculate on what kind of meeting it was but they looked happy and seemed to have a great time," he says.

The same also seemed to be true later in the day, when the two were seen at Casa Tua on South Beach.

With his arm around her, Mayer, 30, and Aniston, 39, left the restaurant a bit before 1 a.m. When they returned to their hotel, they were observed holding hands.

"We are very discreet here," the manager of Casa Tua told PEOPLE after the two had departed. "That is why we have celebrity guests."

does anyone miss the days where we didn't hear about who he was dating, or eating lunch with? back when people didn't know him as much and no paps...*sighs*

those were the days dora, those were the days.

I don't mind a story like this one, hearing who he's having lunch with. It's just the paparazzi videos on those tabloid shows that make me wish for the old days when no one cared who he was.

I have to say it is nice to see him with an older woman, close to my age ;)

John Mayer opened up at yesterday Met’s Costume Institute Gala about the photos of him and Jennifer Aniston in Miami. Here’s what he told multiple media outlets:

Entertainment Tonight: “Listen, this is not a scandal, this is not an issue, this is not a problem, this needs no spin control. After filming for three months in Miami, Jennifer Aniston has big plans for the wrap party of Marley & Me, including a special performance by her new man, John Mayer! In Touch can reveal that the celebration will take place at Nikki Beach in Coconut Grove on May 10, where the sexy rocker will perform at least three songs. According to an insider, the party was originally supposed to take place on May 9. “Everything was changed at the last minute so John could do this for her. He’s crazy about Jen.” The pair have fast-tracked their romance and the insider says, “It’s hot and heavy but in that very cool way.” The insider on the set adds, "John isn’t going to hide his adoration and he’s telling everyone what a cool chick Jen is.” Looks like this relationship is anything but a wrap!

and no-one ever considered combining his name with a hollywood star, ala 'johniston' or whatever it is

Looks like John Mayer and Jennifer Aniston’s summer fling is turning into a full blown love affair.

After spending most of the weekend locked up in Jen’s L.A. home, the loved up couple packed up and headed over to Courtney Cox and David Arquette’s gate Malibu beach home. It also appears that David’s sister Rosanna Arquette was also in attendance.

Meanwhile, sources claim the 39-year-old actress and her 30-year-old crooner boy toy are planning to get matching “J” tattoos.

“He had the idea that they should both have a ‘J’ tattooed in a secret place as that is both their first initial,” says the insider. “Jennifer is really keen on the idea but is going to wait a few months.”

I think people need to lay off. Regardless of who he's dating, he's still the same guy he was back in '02, just with a more mature outlook on life.
I for one am happy for the guy. Unlike years before when you'd mention his name in reference to his amazing music, now people actually recognize the name. Even if he does get derogatory press- he's getting press!
As for the puppy fat. hair, skin tone- what does that have to do with his music? And quite frankly, I think he's coming into his own. He's gaining confidence in his appearance. Good for him.

Jennifer Aniston Dumped By John Mayer?

Jennifer Aniston takes her dogs to her assistant’s house in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

The Friends star has reportedly been dumped by her latest boyfriend, John Mayer. The pair initially decided to spend some time apart, before making the break official earlier this week, according to The Mirror.

“There’s been a bit of tension for some time,” says a source close to 30-year-old musician. “They initially opted for a break, hoping a trial split might make them stronger. Sadly it doesn’t seem to have worked.”

“John took the decision to end things as he felt he just wasn’t ready for the level of commitment that Jennifer deserved. Contrary to reports, Jen didn’t want to have kids or marry this year, but she did want to set a timetable for their future together.”

“She also wanted him to assure her he would cut down his tours in the future when they did eventually have children. Initially, Jennifer was furious when he told her of his decision but now she’s simply sad - not to mention a little heartbroken,” the source said.

“They have spoken on the phone since the split and are trying to remain on good terms. But unless John has a dramatic change of heart, it’s unlikely they’ll rekindle their romance.”

John Mayer Talks About Aniston Split

When OK! caught up with John Mayer in NYC on Saturday, not only did the singer admit that he and Jennifer Aniston are no longer together — the normally obtuse star actually spoke openly about the split.

"It's the most normal thing in the world," John says. "There's no lying there's no cheating. There's no nothing."

John also had nothing but the kindest words for his ex. "Jennifer Aniston is the smartest, most sophisticated person I think I've ever met," he explained. "She's one of the most lovely people I've ever met in my life."

So what went wrong? "People have different chemistry, they have different lives," says John. "It's not about years, it's about going out with somebody, being truthful on the way in, being truthful in the middle and being truthful on the way out. You're either a cheater or you break up and I'm not the first, I'm the second. And that's it. There's no lying, there's no bullsh**."

And according to John, it was him that called a halt to their romance. "I ended a relationship because there was no lying," he explained to OK!. "I ended a relationship to be alone because I don't want to waste somebody's time if something's not right. I don't waste people's time. I don't do the taper. I guarantee you there's 20 percent of the people on the street right now who are in a relationship they wish they could get out of but they don't know how. And I'm going to be honest on the way in to my relationships and I'm going to be honest on the way out of my relationships."

"I'm sorry that the story's not interesting," John tells OK!. "But it's about time that somebody stands up for that girl and I think she's great."

As for the news that Jen has already moved on and begun seeing another man, John shrugged, "I don't care."
