ok so.
the trip down was really nice, no traffic at all.. we stopped at our hotel for a bit then headed straight over to the amphitheatre.
brett dennen (sp?) was playing when we got there and he seemed pretty good even though i had never heard of him.
then colbie caillat came on and she was really good, lovely songs.
then our mayer came on. and he looked soooo different from afar without his hair! i kept getting him confused with another bandmate who had a buzzcut lol.
but yeah, our view wasnt that great cause there were a bunch of drunk tall guys in front of me, but i lucked out when the people next to us left and i could spread my arms out a bit.
but anyways! the concert was amazing, of course. he seemed so humble and he kept saying how it was sort of surreal to be playing a sold out 20,000 seat venue when just 5 years ago he had been at shoreline with like half that number of seats sold.
so the setlist was awesome, tailored perfectly for me it seemed like and it went something like this:
Belief
Bigger Than My Body
No Such Thing
Crossroads
Dreaming with a Broken Heart
Stitched up (i was like the only one who knew it!)
Trust Myself
Free Fallin (so pretty live)
Mercy
Vultures
Good Love
Why Georgia
Gravity
Encore:
I Dont Need No Doctor
WOTWTC
Say
overall it was a great night.
the only part that kinda threw me for a loop was the fact that he called jen aniston his girlfriend to everyone. for him to say "girlfriend" made me kinda cringe with disgust. I mean, he was telling a story and said something like "so i had to tell my girlfriend.." and i guess we're to assume he meant aniston.
it just... i dont know. i guess since he was standing there in front of me saying it instead of reading it from some trasy magazine made me realize this aniston thing is for real.
but yeah, other than that comment, it was an awesome night and now im going through complete mayer withdrawls.
come on new album!!
oh and here's pics.
