well i kind of have mixed feelings about this story..

on one hand, yes it shows mayer is a compassionate man who reaches out to those with misfortunes. however, she is certainly not the only girl to go through what she did.

not many people here know, but over a year ago, i lost my mother as well.. so it just kind of makes me wonder where MY meet and greet is. i mean, ever since my mom passed ive never used it to gain sympathy, which is why i never really have talked about it. but it's just sorta annoying that i went through the same thing she did and she used her grief to meet him. and yeah the dad used his radio connections to get mayer tickets in the first place, but i dont know, it just all seems very shady.

i guess my annoyance is with using your mother's death as a way to meet a celebrity, on purpose or not.. that's pretty much what she did.
and yes his songs are a great way to relieve pain, but that doesnt mean she should get special treatment for something that happens to thousands of people everyday..

that's just my two cents though.
