Happy Birthday! I love you, but I am pissed, so let me rant...
Can't say I am entirely thrilled you are back into the whole Hollywood thing after you said not a month ago that you were going to "disappear" for a while and not be in the public eye. I can't say I care for that JM much. He's more arrogant than normal....more superficial and not that guy from Fairfield that I can relate to.

I HATE when you go to LA. You become so much a part of the machine when you're out there. Your best writing has been back East. Don't stay away too long.

They (the paps) beat the shit out of your hard won reputation as a blues genius, and only focus on your lothario like ways. I know you say it's only music now, yada yada, but when you are feeding yourself to the shark-like paparazzi, it makes it almost insurmountable to defend you to others...

My birthday wish for you this year is peace and for you to find clarity (no pun intended) in your life. Chase the dream, hold the reality and keep yourself grounded. I'm hanging on by a thread here sometimes. These are the times that try fans souls...

But I love you, you are a genius, there will never be anyone whose music talks to me and can take me onto a higher level of thinking and feeling as yours so elegantly does.
